My mother was born Jeanie Carol Tomlinson, named after her aunt, Carol Jean, on July 13, 1953. She was born in the small town of Yoder, Colorado although it says Colorado Springs on the certificate. Her parents... my grandparents are Kenneth and Estelle Tomlinson, and they are both still with us. My mom is the third child of four... had 2 older sisters (The eldest passed on in May '85) and a younger brother.

After a move to Tulsa, Oklahoma, my mom's family moved to Tucon, Arizona when she was 5 years old. While growing up here, she spent many days outside in the deserts surrounding her home. My mother started singing in the church choir at a young age. It was the only reason why she went to church. Throughout school she was in her schools' choirs. She graduated high school in 1971. She entered into military service in March 1973, and became a Navy corpman... psychiatry technician specifically. The picture below was taken in 1973 during her corp school:



My mom met my dad at the Enlisteds' Club while she was stationed in Bethesda, Maryland. They married in December 1974. The marriage didn't last; they split in September 1988. After her discharge in March 1977, she became a housewife. Their marriage produced two children, myself January, 26, 1977 and my sister, August 18, 1982.

Since the divorce she has not remarried, and has no interest to. For the most part she has just dealt with my sister and I. She has no grandkids. Hopefully, my sister will take care of that when the time comes... heehee!! Below you will find a picture of mom and me dated May 16, 2002... from my graduation from community college.
